Sons convention due for
TV screening
I've just received the
news that the documentary that was filmed at the
Near Dublin European Convention in 2007 has been
sold to the Irish National TV station and is
scheduled to be broadcast soon. That will then make
it available for Sons of the Desert worldwide to
view.
Up until now, the
copyright prohibited us from sharing this fantastic
insight into our great organisation. I have been
asked many times since the convention about the
film and I'm now thrilled that everyone will soon
be able to see the finished programme.
It is thirty minutes long
and shows the Sons for what we are. . . a great
bunch of friends and a group that simply wants to
have fun.

Blotto
An edition of
Blotto magazine (this time named
Allerniewste Blotto 38) has arrived and it
is a beauty. The text is all in Dutch. The heavily
illustrated magazine has been absent for some time,
so it was a delight to see it back, having lost
none of its zest. Bram
Reijnhoudt has
details.
Bed for a
rest
The Early to Bed Tent's
14th anniversary meeting was cancelled at very
short notice as the venue The Spital Hotel closed
down suddenly (again!).
The Grand Sheik and wife
went to the Octember Brats meeting for the second
leg (or was it the first leg?) of the annual
Inter-Tent Quiz but no other Early to Bedders
turned up so that too was subject to a hiatus!
Therefore the tent can be said to be resting for
the moment.

the Edinburgh City Football Club. It is

Worthy of
heritage
I learned recently that
the dance "Tango" is now on the list of world
cultural heritage. My first idea was that the
films of Laurel and Hardy deserve to be on that
list too. They are loved on every continent, the
films are still very popular after eighty years and
so on. Is there somebody who knows about starting a
procedure to bring them onto the list of world
cultural heritage? You see, I am not as young as
you look, but that could be a task for a young
generation of Sons. Well, you think it
over.
