Sailors Beware Tent: red noses and raffle

A brace of Sailors were recently invited by the Austin Group Building Consultants to present a Red Nose Day event at AstraZeneca in Macclesfield.

The event took place on Friday 13th March 2009 and consisted of a talk and film show given by Graeme Green (below), Grand Sheik of Tent 262, plus a musical tribute to the Boys from Bobby Kemp. The show was attended by both Austin and Astra employees who are currently working on a joint venture to construct a new three-storey facility on the site.

The hour and a half event was well received with much merriment and laughter from the assembled audience who were full of stories about their favourite films remembered from childhood which still hold a special place in their hearts.

A fish and chip lunch was enjoyed by all during the performance of Honolulu Baby by Bobby (above right), resplendent in a multi-coloured lei, which was then followed by a raffle. All too soon it was time for the happy gathering to return to their day jobs, putting the "Finishing Touch" to the building rising above the silk town of Macclesfield.
