A while back
Gino Dercola got in touch with the following:
'Above is a political
cartoon that uses Laurel and Hardy characters. It appeared last
week in The Columbia County News-Times newspaper. Harlem,
Georgia, Oliver Hardy's birthplace, is in Columbia County. In
the long tradition of political cartoons, Laurel and Hardy have
been used often by political cartoonists around the world. (Note
the Jitterbugs Research Institute--I love it!)
Thanks to fellow Son, Denise Carter, of the Berth Marks Tent in
Harlem for sharing this.'
The artist, BJ Wood,
got in touch with The Nutty Nut News Network with the following:
'Thanks for sharing
this cartoon with the Nutty Nut News Network. I grew up
watching those movies with my grandfather, and have a great love
of them (along with Abbott and Costello, Three Stooges, etc.).
It was by pure chance that I ended up in the same County that
Oliver Hardy was born in, I wanted to incorporate
something true Laurel and Hardy fans would see and love, while
still catchy to readers not well associated with Laurel and
Hardy.'
